I would like to share a simple tip to help office workers care for their office plants. Office plants face different challenges than plants at home. If you have no windows in your office, some plants do not need direct sun, they simply need enough light energy. A flexible desk lamp with a daylight LED bulb rated 5000K to 6500K colour temperature placed about 15 centimetres above plants like Lithops or Desert Rose can provide sufficient light to support healthy growth. Another challenge could be air conditioning that dries out air. A simple pebble tray can gently raise humidity around the leaves. Fill a shallow saucer with pebbles and water, then rest the pot on top so it sits above the waterline. As the water evaporates, it creates a small humidity zone around the plant without soaking the roots. If the room temperature falls below 18°C, avoid using a pebble tray or humidifier, as cool air combined with high humidity can increase the risk of root rot.

They say laughter is the best medicine! So, please join us for the joke of the day entitled, “Card Confusion at Customs.”

Johan, a self-described seasoned traveler, called the airline’s customer service desk with what he insisted would be a “simple” question about flying to Brazil. After a long explanation about passports, entry requirements, and length of stay, the agent gently reminded him of one more thing.

“You’ll also need a visa for Brazil, sir.”

“No, I won’t. I’ve been to Brazil four times. Never needed one.”

The agent double-checked the current regulations. No mistake— his trip absolutely required a visa. She carefully explained it again.

“Look, miss, I’ve been to Brazil four times. And every single time, they accepted my Mastercard.”
