American writer and widow Rosemary Thornton shares her near-death experience from 2018: Two years after her husband’s tragic suicide, Rosemary was diagnosed with gynecological cancer. During treatment, something went wrong. As her blood pressure fell and her heart stopped, Rosemary felt her spirit “pop out like toast from a toaster.” Fully conscious, she knew she was dead but retained her sense of humor, identity, and awareness. In velvety blackness, she felt peace and gratitude, believing she had been granted “early release for good behavior” from the “insane asylum” of Earth.
Rosemary was joined by a massive Loving Presence. Looking up behind her left shoulder—for Rosemary still felt like she had a body despite no physical form— she joyfully asked, “And who are you?” The Presence said, “You, Rosemary. You are the image and likeness. I’m the Original”—referencing the Bible’s Genesis 1:26. This Being, whom she felt as feminine, radiated unconditional love and peace.
A Spiritual Companion appeared and reminded Rosemary of a childhood moment when she had crossed over as an infant but was brought back through her mother’s prayers— explaining her lifelong fascination with near-death experiences. Together, Rosemary and her Companion traveled to a white, misty room where “particles of light” cleansed her of earthly burdens. Approaching a door she believed led to Heaven, Rosemary asked if it was GOD’s Will for her to pass. The immediate response was that it was not, but any choice she made would be met with GOD’s Love and Blessings. Seeing a vision of a kind nurse sobbing in guilt over her death, Rosemary chose to return to spare her that pain.
Instantly, Rosemary was back in her body, now in a different emergency room. Angels appeared, sparkling in robes of Light and singing the most beautiful music Rosemary ever heard: Heavenly songs glorifying GOD. The more they sang songs glorifying GOD, the brighter their sparkles became, and the brighter their sparkles became, the more they sang songs glorifying GOD. They told her the music was to bring her peace and to thank her for returning. They assured her they were making adjustments to her body for healing. After four days in the hospital, Rosemary’s recovery was miraculous; within two weeks, her blood work was “textbook perfect,” and a subsequent biopsy revealed no trace of cancer, astonishing her doctors. Meanwhile, the guilt and grief over her husband’s death were encapsulated, no longer causing her pain.
Rosemary sold her belongings, moved west, and found peace in a simple life growing food. Her message is that GOD and the Angels deeply love and cherish humanity, seeing our perfection and potential despite our flaws. She believes our purpose on Earth is “to be good, to do good, to love, to be kind, to be wise.” She sums up her near-death experience in three words: “Welcome Home, deary” (Beyond the Veil)
